Monitoring of Security Situation

The ministry is in continuous communication with the Malaysian High Commission in Namibia, which holds concurrent accreditation to the DRC, and the Ministry of Defence to assess the ongoing developments and ensure the well-being of all Malaysians in the region.
Travel Advisory Issued

In light of the prevailing security conditions, Malaysians intending to travel to the DRC are strongly advised to postpone their travel plans until the situation stabilises. This advisory comes amidst reports of deadly clashes and ongoing instability in the region.
Status of Goma

As of February 7, the city of Goma, identified as the largest urban centre in the eastern DRC, remains under the control of the M23 group. The ministry continues to monitor these developments and will provide further updates as necessary.
