A Parti Putra Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) leader has alleged that Malay reserve land in Sitiawan, Manjung district, Perak, has been unlawfully transferred to non-Malays and non-Muslims. Putra vice-president Datuk Hamidah Osman claimed that approximately 20 out of 317 plots in the area are owned and registered to individuals of other races. These allegations stem from checks conducted by Putra, which indicate that the affected land, part of Malay reserve land gazetted on January 7, 1930, under the status of Malay Holding, has been registered for commercial use, primarily for agriculture.
Allegations of registration to non-Malays

Datuk Hamidah Osman stated that her party's investigations revealed about 20 plots within the 317 designated plots in Sitiawan are currently owned and registered to non-Malays. This observation was made despite the grants obtained from the land office clearly indicating the land's status as Malay reserve land. The land in question is situated within a larger expanse of 649.20 hectares, which falls under plot number 488 of the 16,996.80 hectares of Malay reserve land gazetted on January 7, 1930.
Claims of revocation of Malay reserve status

Hamidah Osman further alleged that a significant portion of the Malay reserve plots under number 488, amounting to approximately 8,691.84 hectares, have had their Malay reserve status revoked. She highlighted that, according to the Malay reserve enactment, any revoked Malay reserve land must be immediately replaced with land of the same size within the same state. The absence of such replacement renders the revocation null and void.
Planned actions by Putra

In response to these alleged irregularities, Putra has taken steps to address the matter. Datuk Hamidah Osman has lodged a police report detailing accusations of wrongdoing, power abuse, and fraud involving the Perak Land and Mines Office and unspecified parties. Furthermore, Putra intends to report the issue to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and is in the process of preparing an affidavit to initiate a lawsuit.
