Any future consideration for electricity bill rebates or discounts, including for domestic micro, small, and medium enterprises (PMKS), is contingent upon the government's financial standing. Proposal for Extended Discount

A proposal was put forth by Shaharizukirnain Abdul Kadir, the Member of Parliament for Setiu, suggesting the extension of electricity bill discounts to domestic consumers within small and medium micro enterprises until December. This proposal was made in the context of ongoing discussions regarding utility cost support.
Previous Discount Implementation

During the period of July 1 to September 30, 2021, specific discounts were offered to alleviate financial burdens. These included discounts of up to 40% for domestic consumers and a 5% discount for micro, small, and medium enterprises (PMKS) across the peninsula and Sabah. The total allocation for this initiative reached RM487 million.
Government's Financial Position as a Determinant

The Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, has indicated that future decisions on such financial relief measures are directly linked to the government's ability to fund them.
