Suspected Upstream Contamination Source

Initial investigations suggest that the contamination originated upstream from Pahang, finding its way into Sungai Langat, which feeds the Hulu Langat plant. The contamination triggered the automatic pollution detection system, leading to the plant's shutdown. A Luas team was dispatched to Bentong to collect samples for testing to help identify the exact nature of the contaminant and narrow down potential sources, such as mining waste or industrial by-products.
