Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, who has been appointed as Malaysia's ambassador to the United States, had previously rejected an offer to serve as envoy to Switzerland. The former Padang Rengas lawmaker reportedly turned down the opportunity to be Malaysia's ambassador to Switzerland. This refusal occurred when he was still serving as a Member of Parliament. He had been in politics for 26 years before announcing his retirement from the Dewan Rakyat in 2021.

Nazri's appointment as the ambassador to the United States was officially confirmed during a ceremony at Istana Negara. Hendy Assan, the ex-ambassador to Uzbekistan, will now serve as the ambassador to the Holy See in Vatican. Other new appointees include Hafizah Abdullah (Sweden), Gloria Corina Peter Tiwet (Brazil), Suzilah Mohd Sidek (Czech Republic), Amarjit Singh (Timor-Leste), Alauddin Mohd Nor (Kuwait), and Ruzaimi Mohamad (High Commissioner to Kenya).
