The number of women candidates decreased in GE15 compared to GE14.

In the 15th General Election (GE15), there was a notable decrease in the number of women candidates who contested, falling from 251 in GE14 to 187 in GE15. Of those who contested parliamentary seats, 31 secured a mandate from the voters. An additional 15 women candidates were successful in winning their respective state seats across Perlis, Perak, Pahang, and Bugaya in Sabah.
Successful Parliamentary Candidates by Party

Pakatan Harapan (PH) saw 16 of its female candidates win parliamentary seats. Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) had five successful candidates, Perikatan Nasional (PN) fielded seven winners, Barisan Nasional (BN) had three victorious candidates, and Warisan had one woman elected to Parliament.
Notable Parliamentary Wins

Several prominent female politicians retained their seats or secured new ones. Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail won the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat for PH with a majority of 9,817 votes. Teo Nie Ching, Teresa Kok Sim, and Hannah Yeoh successfully defended their seats in Kulai, Seputeh, and Segambut, respectively. From GPS, Datuk Nancy Shukri secured the Santubong parliamentary seat with a majority of 19,485 votes, and Datuk Rubiah Wang retained the Kota Samarahan parliamentary seat.
State Seat Victories and Key Contests

In the state elections, PH secured seven women winners, PN had five, and BN had three. Among the BN candidates who won parliamentary constituencies was Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad, who won the Parit Sulong parliamentary seat with a majority of 11,474 votes. Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin of PN defended the Masjid Tanah seat, while Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis of Warisan successfully defended the Kota Belud parliamentary constituency. However, Nurul Izzah Anwar of PH lost the Permatang Pauh seat to a PN challenger, and incumbent Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamarudin failed to defend her seat.
