Healy Mac Pub in Bangsar said it could seat 176 patrons before the Covid-19 outbreak and MCO, but during CMCO it cut the number of chairs by more than half to allow only 76 patrons. The pub manager, Benjamin Sheehy, said staff temperature is taken every morning before they enter the premises. Customers’ temperature is scanned before they are allowed in, and the pub records personal details including customers’ name, phone number, and residence as part of the SOP process.

Sheehy said the pub is adhering to standard operating procedures issued by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), including the social distancing measures. Foreign workers in hostels are housed with lower occupancy and given mask guidance
The health and safety consultant, Lila Rozaini, said foreign workers living in company hostels practise social distancing by reducing occupancy from three to two per room after the MCO. Workers are provided with hand sanitisers and masks, and during morning briefings they are instructed to change masks every three hours; she also said inspections of outlets in Kuala Lumpur and later nationwide are planned, with another outlet in Ipoh and one in Penang.
