Following his engagement with the advertisement, the victim was instructed to download an application called 'A-Trade' from the Apple Store. This application was presented as the platform through which investment activities would be conducted.
Sequential Transactions and Significant Financial Loss

Between September and November 2024, the victim made a total of 30 separate transactions, transferring a sum of RM5,900,506.48. These funds were channelled into eight different company accounts as per the instructions provided by the perpetrators. The victim believed he was purchasing share units and making other investment-related transactions, ensuring his account held sufficient funds for each step.
Discovery of the Scam and Police Investigation

The scam was uncovered when the victim did not receive any returns on his substantial investment. This lack of expected profit prompted him to realise he had been deceived. He subsequently lodged a report at the Kajang District Police Station, leading to the initiation of a police investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which deals with cheating and fraudulent deception. Authorities are cautioning the public against similar investment offers found on social media that promise unusually high returns from entities not approved by regulatory bodies such as Bank Negara Malaysia or the Securities Commission of Malaysia.
