Evasive Maneuvers and Suspects' Escape

During the chase, which lasted for approximately 40 minutes, the suspicious fishing boat attempted to ram the MMEA lightning boat multiple times in an effort to evade capture. Despite these attempts, the MMEA maintained pursuit. Ultimately, the two suspects on board decided to jump overboard into the sea, abandoning the vessel.
Discovery of Suspected Syabu

Following the suspects' escape, MMEA personnel boarded the abandoned fishing boat. A search revealed two black bags concealed beneath fishing nets. These bags contained 51 packages of Chinese tea, each wrapped in transparent plastic, filled with a white crystalline substance believed to be syabu. The estimated value of the seized drugs is RM11.3 million, with a total weight of 56.5 kilogrammes. This seizure represents the largest drug bust by MMEA this year.
