They were subsequently confined to a house and subjected to a grueling work schedule, reportedly from 6 am to 1 am daily. Their diet was restricted to basic sustenance, consisting of bread and hard-boiled eggs for lunch, and occasionally plain rice with chicken for dinner.
Escape and Seeking Assistance

The ordeal for the victims concluded when they managed to escape their confinement on November 30. Following their escape, they sought help from patrolmen who encountered them. This act of seeking external assistance was crucial in their eventual rescue and return to Malaysia, with the cost of their return flights covered by the NGO Sarawak Volunteers.
