PN went from holding three Johor seats to winning none at all.

Perikatan Nasional’s result in the 16th Johor State Election was a complete reversal from 2022. It lost all 33 seats it contested and also surrendered the three seats it had won in the previous state election: Bukit Kepong, Maharani and Endau.
PN’s seat count fell from three to zero
In the 2022 Johor state election, PN had won Bukit Kepong, Maharani and Endau. In this election, it failed to retain any of them and did not add a single new seat from the 33 it contested.
Bukit Kepong changed hands in a three-cornered fight
Bukit Kepong was previously held by PN through former menteri besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal. He lost to Barisan Nasional candidate Ahmad Syar’e Yusof in a three-cornered contest that also included Pakatan Harapan candidate C. Subramani.
Maharani and Endau also slipped away
PN candidate Mohamad Anuar Hayan failed to retain Maharani, which had been won by Abdul Aziz Talib in the last state election. In Endau, PN candidate Hasnul Hakimi Hussein failed to take the seat from Alwiyah Talib, who contested this time under Barisan Nasional after winning Endau under the PN banner in 2022.
PN’s wider contest was spread across four component parties
PN fielded 33 candidates in total: 16 from Bersatu, 11 from PAS, five from the Malaysian Indian People’s Party, and one from Pejuang. Despite that slate, the coalition finished with no representation in the Johor state assembly from this election.
