The boy was attempting to retrieve a plastic bag, which was being used as bait for fishing, when he entered the water. Fortunately, a resort worker and an Indonesian national were present and intervened to rescue the child from the pond.
Father's Attempted Rescue and Drowning

Following his son's fall, the father, identified as Mohamed Hafidz Che Din, 46, immediately jumped into the pond in an effort to save him. Despite the successful rescue of the child by the worker and the Indonesian national, Mohamed Hafidz did not resurface. He was eventually found near the stairs at the edge of the pond after about 20 minutes.
Post-Rescue Efforts and Outcome

Upon being brought out of the pond, attempts were made to revive Mohamed Hafidz through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). These efforts were administered multiple times but unfortunately proved unsuccessful. The victim was subsequently taken to Raub Hospital, where a post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as asphyxia secondary to drowning.
