Argentine fans and some players have faced racism accusations, including past chants mocking Black players on the French team, and a longer record of club-level incidents such as bananas thrown at the field or monkey gestures toward Brazilian fans or black players. During the World Cup, FIFA condemned racism after an Argentine supporter told a Black US influencer known as IshowSpeed to go “cry at the zoo” during a livestream, and Samuel L.
