The first fire, which involved a personal mobility aid, occurred in a common corridor on the 10th floor and was extinguished by the SCDF using a water jet. A second fire on the fourth floor, involving a bicycle cover, was put out by members of the public using a dry powder fire extinguisher.
Preliminary Findings Suggest Arson

Preliminary findings from the SCDF indicated that the fires were deliberately set. Police have identified a male youth who is assisting with investigations into the incidents under the charge of mischief by fire. Three individuals were assessed for smoke inhalation following the fires but did not require hospital treatment.

In response to the incidents, Holland-Bukit Timah GRC MP Edward Chia stated that grassroots leaders would increase Citizens On Patrol activities.
