The probe was launched by its KLIA Integrity Division after the agency became aware of a viral Threads post claiming the officer received RM100 via a QR code payment to the officer’s personal bank account last Saturday. AKPS has also summoned the officer to provide a statement and is seeking information from the public to assist the investigation.
AKPS initiated the KLIA Integrity Division probe after a viral Threads claim
AKPS KLIA Entry Point commander Mohd Safrie Zakaria said the KLIA Integrity Division started the investigation immediately once the agency became aware of the viral Threads post. The post alleged that RM100 was paid through a QR code to the officer’s personal bank account on last Saturday. The investigation is intended to establish the facts and ensure transparency throughout the process.
The officer linked to the allegation has been summoned to give a statement
Zakaria said the officer connected to the allegation was summoned by AKPS top management to provide a statement to assist with the investigation. This step is part of the agency’s efforts to gather information directly from the person implicated in the claim.
AKPS contacted the Threads account owner but received no response
AKPS also attempted to obtain further information from the Threads account owner, identified as @brayenngabriel. The account owner was contacted at about 11am the day before the statement, but AKPS said it received no response as of 4pm that day.
AKPS says it will not compromise and will pursue disciplinary and legal action if confirmed
Zakaria stressed that AKPS would not compromise with any officer found to have breached integrity principles, abused authority, or failed to comply with prescribed standard operating procedures. He added that if the investigation confirms misconduct, firm disciplinary and legal action will be taken. The agency urged members of the public with information about the incident to come forward and assist the investigation.
