The dragon painting is anticipated to stretch an impressive 616.9 meters, equivalent to 2,024 feet, a length specifically chosen to signify the current year, 2024. This artwork will also be 18.3 meters, or six feet, wide. This undertaking is believed to represent the longest Chinese artwork ever created, surpassing last year's Year of the Rabbit painting which was officially recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the longest Chinese art previously drawn.
Annual Artistic Celebration

This drawing activity has been a yearly tradition since 2015, with the exception of two years impacted by the movement control order. It serves a dual purpose: to celebrate the culmination of a year's dedicated training in Chinese art and to honour the Lunar New Year festivities. Approximately 200 individuals are expected to contribute to the creation of this extensive scroll.
Collaborative Creation Process

The execution of the artwork will involve members from the Modian Cultural Centre, who will be divided into 12 distinct groups. Each group will be assigned responsibility for drawing a specific section of the overall painting. The creation process will utilise white paper for the intricate drawing of the dragon motif and red paper for inscribing auspicious phrases and greetings.
Associated Activities and Donation

In conjunction with the main drawing event, a calligraphy competition is also being organised. Participants in this competition will be tasked with drawing a dragon alongside writing auspicious wording. The registration for the day's events is set to commence at 8am, with the commencement of the competition following an hour later. Upon its completion, the extensive dragon painting will be presented as a donation to the Klang Hokkien Association.
