KTMB to Offer Nearly 39,000 Additional Seats for National Day and Holiday Travel

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is introducing 124 extra services, providing a total of 38,944 additional seats, for its Electric Train Service (ETS) and Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) Plus operations. These enhancements are aimed at accommodating increased passenger demand during the upcoming National Day celebrations and school holidays. The additional services are scheduled to run across various dates from August 21 to September 6.
Additional ETS Services for Peak Travel Periods

KTMB will operate 100 supplementary ETS services, which will add 31,600 seats to its capacity. These extra ETS trains are scheduled to run over ten specific days, divided into three phases: August 21 to 23, August 28 to 31, and September 4 to 6. This strategic deployment of services targets the periods with the highest anticipated passenger volume.
Expanded EMU Plus Services

In addition to the ETS, 24 extra EMU Plus services will be made available, contributing 7,344 seats. These services will operate on selected dates between August 21 and September 6. Notably, some of these EMU Plus services will be extended to Bandar Tasik Selatan, offering greater connectivity.
Enhanced Northern Sector Commuter Services

For commuters in the northern sector, KTMB is augmenting its KTM Komuter services on the Padang Besar-Butterworth-Padang Besar route. Eight additional services will operate daily from August 27 to August 31, increasing the total number of daily services on this route to 46. This measure aims to improve travel options for regular commuters during the extended holiday period.
