These operations are designed to prompt payment and recover the owed funds.
Enforcement Measures for Non-Payment

The enforcement process begins with the issuance of notices to account holders, followed by discussions. Premises that fail to settle their outstanding payments within two weeks of receiving a notice may face sealing under Section 148 of the Local Government Act 1976. For empty premises lacking movable assets, DBKL will seek a court order to auction the property under Section 151 of the same Act.
Confiscation and Payment Requirements

In cases of substantial outstanding payments, DBKL may confiscate items from commercial premises. Account holders are required to pay 30% of the outstanding amount immediately and are given one week to settle the remaining 70% at the head office. Failure to comply with this arrangement will result in the confiscation of the remaining items.
Recent Sealing Operations

In a recent operation on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, 25 business premises were confiscated due to a combined outstanding tax payment of RM1.6 million. Separately, on the day of the announcement, a total of 210 commercial premises were sealed, representing RM384 million in unpaid assessment taxes. These premises had previously been issued notices since September.
