The vehicles were seized and summonses were issued as foreign nationals are not permitted to work as commercial vehicle drivers in Malaysia, despite possessing valid travel documents and work permits for other sectors. Ongoing Enforcement Efforts

The JPJ has indicated that these intensified operations will continue until December 31. This sustained enforcement aims to ensure that all commercial vehicle operators and drivers adhere to the regulations stipulated under the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Land Public Transport Act 2010. Additionally, a phased enforcement of Speed Limitation Devices (SLDs) for commercial vehicles, including tour and express buses, has commenced. As of October 3, 165 commercial vehicles were inspected for SLD compliance, with 91 vehicles issued with notices for further action.
