Maximum of 50 congregants permitted for Friday prayers in Kelantan mosques

Kelantan mosques are now permitted to hold Friday prayers with a maximum of 50 congregants. This revised capacity is effective from Friday until February 4, or for the duration of the current movement control order (MCO) aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.
Friday Prayer Capacity Increase

Mosques located in major towns, districts, and sub-districts across Kelantan will be allowed to host Friday prayers with up to 50 attendees. This adjustment aims to facilitate congregational worship while adhering to public health directives during the MCO period.
General Mass Prayer Regulations

Beyond Friday prayers, general mass prayers are also permitted in all mosques. These gatherings will be restricted to a maximum of 12 individuals, exclusively comprising the imam, bilal, siak, and mosque committee members. For smaller prayer spaces such as surau and musalla, general mass prayers will be limited to five people, including the imam and bilal.
Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures

The existing standard operating procedures (SOP) for both Friday prayers and general mass prayers remain in effect and must be strictly followed by all mosque, surau, and musalla management. Non-compliance with these established SOPs will result in action being taken. This decision has received the consent of the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, as the head of religion.
