Staff Nurse Also Diagnosed

In addition to the inmate cases, one staff nurse working at the Changi Prison Complex also tested positive for Covid-19. This case was reported separately and was not linked to the infections among the newly admitted inmates.
Outcomes and Containment of Cases

Of the three inmates who tested positive, two have since been discharged, while the third remains clinically well. The staff nurse who contracted the virus has recovered and has returned to work. Importantly, the Singapore Prison Service stated that there were no further infections arising from these specific cases, indicating successful containment measures.
Precautionary Measures in Place

To mitigate the risk of transmission, the Changi Prison Complex has implemented several precautionary measures. All newly admitted inmates are subjected to a 14-day segregation period. They undergo Covid-19 swab tests upon admission and again at the conclusion of their segregation. Furthermore, during periods of heightened alert, such as the Circuit Breaker, all family visits and in-person programmes were suspended, with communication facilitated through phone calls, letters, and e-letters.
