Affected Localities and Supply Measures

The water rationing affects residents in the northern Perlis regions. However, specific villages such as Kampung Melayu, Kampung Kolam, and Kampung Kok Mak in Padang Besar, along with Jalan Batu 16, the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) site in Guar Chenderai, and Kampung Bukit Merah in Beseri, will continue to receive water supply, albeit at a reduced pressure. To mitigate the impact, Syarikat Air Perlis (SAP) will provide clean water via lorry tankers and static tanks strategically placed in the affected villages.
Support for Institutions and Proposed Actions

SAP is prepared to supply clean water to schools or institutions of higher learning in the affected locations upon demand. As the chairman of SAP, Datuk Seri Azlan Man suggested granting leave to the Guar Chenderai PLKN trainees for the 2.0 Series 13/2016, whose training began on March 26, until normal water supply is restored. Additionally, students at the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Beseri could be permitted to return home during weekends.
Contingency and Conservation Advice

The water rationing plan is dynamic and subject to adjustments by SAP, with the possibility of discontinuation if rainfall occurs soon. During this critical period, consumers in the affected areas are strongly advised to conserve their water resources. Cloud seeding operations in Perlis are also continuing for the fifth day and are scheduled to conclude on April 18.
