Mohamad Askar, 41, who was a rear passenger in the lorry, passed away at Segamat Hospital in Johor on Saturday afternoon. He had sustained severe head injuries in the crash, which occurred along Jalan Selancar–Redong near Kampung Perwira Jaya in Rompin. His death brought the total number of fatalities to three.
Two Workers Died at Crash Scene

The initial casualties from the crash were Md Kader, 34, and Md Dalim, 30, both Bangladeshi nationals. They were identified as the front passenger and a rear passenger, respectively, on the lorry. Both individuals were declared dead at the scene of the accident on Saturday.
Lorry Driver Remanded for Investigation

The 45-year-old Bangladeshi driver of the lorry, which was carrying oil palm pesticides, was uninjured in the incident. He did not possess a valid driving licence. He has been remanded for four days to assist with investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Urine screening tests for drugs on the driver returned negative.
