The Civil Defence Force (APM) in Setiu received a report from a farmer at approximately 8am on November 29th concerning a large reticulated python in his goat pen. The farmer was alarmed by the sight of the six-metre-long, 100-kilogramme snake, which had already consumed one of his goats. Upon arrival at the scene, APM officers found the python bloated from its meal and observed the carcass of an adult female goat nearby.
Capture and relocation of the python

A team of four APM members successfully captured the snake within approximately 10 minutes. The operation required the assistance of six individuals, including two villagers, to carefully lift and transport the substantial python into an APM vehicle. The captured snake was initially taken to the Setiu APM office before being transferred to Besut, where the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) would assume responsibility for its management.
