Original Abduction Allegations

All 14 individuals were initially accused of unlawfully confining the 31-year-old Palestinian victim with the common intention to extract confidential information concerning the development and deactivation of software used for hacking mobile phones. The alleged incident took place at Jalan Mayang, Kuala Lumpur, around 10:40 pm on September 28, 2022.
Additional Money Laundering Charges

Separately, Tengku Arif Bongsu Tengku Hamid, along with the married couple Nidarahayu Zainal and Raibafie Amdan, also face 19 counts of money laundering. These charges involve a sum exceeding RM250,000 and are brought under Section 4(1)(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. Conviction for these offences can result in imprisonment for up to 15 years and a fine of either five times the value of the proceeds or RM5 million, whichever is higher.
