A total of 27 Malaysian institutions were listed in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings. Among these, a record six universities have secured a place among Asia's top 100, and eleven are within the top 200.

Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has made history by becoming the first Malaysian university to be ranked among the top 40 in Asia. UTP climbed to the 35th position in the THE Asia University Rankings 2026, an improvement from its 43rd position in the previous year.
