Shell Malaysia to Introduce 10 New EV Charging Bays at Resorts World Genting

Shell Malaysia is establishing a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Resorts World Genting, which will feature 10 charging bays. This development is set to increase Shell's total EV charging points to 146 units by next year, up from the current 136 units. The new hub is anticipated to be operational by early next year and will represent Shell's inaugural ultra-fast 360kW high-performance charging (HPC) hub under its Shell Recharge brand.
New Charging Hub Details

The charging hub at Resorts World Genting will be equipped with a total of 10 charging bays. These will include four bays capable of 360kW HPC, designed for rapid charging, and six bays offering 22kW alternating current (AC) chargers. All the chargers will be fitted with combined charging system Type 2 charging connectors, enabling EV drivers to experience significantly faster charging speeds at the hilltop location.
Expansion of Shell's EV Network

This new facility in Genting Highlands marks a significant expansion of Shell's existing EV charging network, which currently comprises 136 points strategically positioned across key cities and along highways in Peninsular Malaysia. The network aims to connect major routes, including those linking Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, facilitating easier long-distance travel for electric vehicle owners.
Future E-Mobility Plans

The introduction of the HPC hub at Resorts World Genting is intended to be the starting point for Shell's broader e-mobility expansion, with plans to extend services towards the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
