The two new refrigerated logistics trucks donated to The Lost Food Project (TLFP) by the people of Japan are each capable of transporting approximately eight pallets of food per journey. These vehicles can carry between 3,000kg and 4,000kg of food in a single trip, ensuring that fresh produce is maintained in optimal condition during transit.
Expanded Fleet Capacity

The addition of these two Isuzu trucks brings TLFP's total operational fleet to six vehicles. This expansion is projected to increase the organisation's overall fleet capacity by 11 per cent. This enhancement is crucial for TLFP to overcome previous growth constraints caused by the over-utilisation of its existing fleet and drivers, which had previously hindered expansion plans.
Enhanced Operational Reach

With the increased transport capacity, TLFP anticipates a rise in food collection trips within the Klang Valley by over 10 per cent, enabling them to serve an additional 115 beneficiary organisations. The new trucks will also facilitate the opening of a second centre in Ipoh, with one truck dedicated to collecting agricultural surplus directly from its source.
Increased Beneficiary Support

The funding for these trucks, provided under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), is expected to enable TLFP to provide food aid to an additional 15,000 beneficiaries this year. This expansion will also allow TLFP to extend its reach to an estimated five new low-cost housing communities, increasing its presence at People’s Housing Programme (PPR) locations to 38, and partnering with 10 more charities.
