As of yesterday, the Sabah Rural Development Ministry has distributed financial aid under the Sabah We Care Special Package Covid-19 to 42,569 recipients. This initiative, aimed at assisting those impacted by the pandemic, has disbursed a total of RM16,845,900. The aid has been channelled to a diverse group of beneficiaries, reflecting the broad scope of the programme.
Distribution to Various Vulnerable Groups

The financial assistance has been provided to individuals and groups identified as needing support. This includes recipients registered within the e-Kasih system, as well as those from the lower-income group (B40) who may have been previously removed from the system. The ministry's efforts extend to specific economic sectors and occupations within rural communities.
Support for Rural Livelihoods

Beyond those in the e-Kasih system, the programme has also reached individuals involved in key rural economic activities. This encompasses recipients under the Mini Estate Sejahtera (MESEJ) scheme, as well as essential workers such as mountain porters. Smallholders engaged in rubber, oil palm, and cocoa cultivation, alongside breeders and fishermen, have also been included in the distribution.
Modalities of Aid Delivery

The disbursement of funds has been managed through multiple channels to ensure accessibility. For recipients with bank accounts, the aid has been directly deposited. For those without bank accounts, cash payments have been facilitated through district offices, the Community Development Leaders Unit, and the Welfare Department, ensuring that aid reaches all intended beneficiaries.
