A total of 1,336 candidates achieved a perfect cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.00 in the 2025 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination. This figure represents an increase of 70 students compared to the 1,266 who attained the same perfect score in STPM 2024.
National CGPA Reaches Record High

The national CGPA for STPM 2025 saw an increase to 2.88, up from 2.85 in the previous year. This achievement marks the highest national CGPA recorded since the introduction of the STPM modular system in 2013, indicating a positive trend in overall student performance.
Proportion of Perfect Scores Rises

The percentage of candidates who secured a perfect 4.00 CGPA rose to 3.50 per cent in STPM 2025, an improvement from 3.06 per cent in STPM 2024. Furthermore, the number of candidates achieving 5A grades in all five subjects taken increased to 60 this year, from 53 in 2024, while those obtaining 4A grades also saw a rise from 1,228 to 1,285.
High Pass Rate for Full Certificates

A significant majority of candidates achieved full passes in their examinations, with 77.64 per cent, or 29,616 students, obtaining passes in four or five subjects. This is an increase from the 76.55 per cent recorded in STPM 2024. Out of the 40,199 registered candidates, 38,144 sat for the papers, and 38,128, or 99.96 per cent, qualified for the STPM certificate.
