Eight of the twelve confirmed paintings have been identified. These include Pablo Picasso's Trois Femmes Nues et buste d’homme (1969) and L’Ecuyère et les clowns (1961), William H. Bailey's Still Life with White Pitcher (1978), Alexander Calder's Studies for Sculpture (1941), Henri Matisse's Femme assise (1903), Raoul Dufy's Conots et vapeurs sur la Marne (1920), Maurice Utrillo's Maison de rendez-vous de chasse de Henri IV, rue St Vincent, Montmartre (1934), and Balthus's Etude pour femme couchée (1948).
Repatriation Process for Unconfirmed Artworks
In addition to the eight confirmed pieces, four other paintings are currently awaiting court approval before they can be repatriated to Malaysia. Some of these artworks are being held by auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's in the United States, with those under Sotheby’s already in the process of being returned.
Safeguarding and Potential Exhibition Plans
