Charge Under AMLA Act 2001

Mohd Zamry faces a charge under Section 4(1)(d) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities (AMLA) Act 2001. This section pertains to the concealment of proceeds derived from unlawful activities. If convicted, he faces a potential penalty of up to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of at least five times the value of the proceeds, or RM5 million, whichever is higher.
Bail and Case Management Details

The 52-year-old former CEO pleaded not guilty to the charge at the Sessions Court. He was granted bail amounting to RM10,000, secured by one surety. The court also imposed a condition prohibiting him from tampering with any witnesses involved in the case. Case management for this charge has been scheduled for December 13.
Previous Bribery Charges

This case is not the first legal challenge for Mohd Zamry. On October 24, he was also charged at the Seremban Sessions Court with two counts of conspiring to receive bribes totalling RM350,000.
