Electrocution Incident Believed to Have Occurred During Coconut Harvesting

Three police officers are believed to have died from electrocution outside the Weston Police Station in Beaufort at approximately 5:50 pm yesterday. The incident is thought to have occurred while the officers were harvesting coconuts using an iron pole in close proximity to the police station.
Post-Mortem Procedures Completed

The remains of the three officers were brought out from the Forensic Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (HQE) at 2:55 pm today, following the completion of post-mortem examinations. The autopsies, which commenced at 8:30 am, concluded at 12:00 pm, after which documentation procedures were carried out to facilitate the transportation of the bodies to their respective hometowns.
Transport Arrangements for Deceased Officers

Arrangements are underway to send the officers' remains back to their families. Corporal Chiu Teck Siong's body will be transported to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Air Operations Force (PGU) Airfield in Kota Kinabalu before being flown to Sarawak. The bodies of Corporal Mohamad Nur Hafiz Ibrahim and Constable Muhammad Raimi Ismarubee will be taken to the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) Mosque for funeral prayers after Maghrib, and subsequently flown to Kelantan and Terengganu via a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).
Acknowledgement of Support and Solidarity

Beaufort District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh expressed gratitude to various individuals and bodies for their assistance in managing the remains. This included Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun, members of the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), and HQE. Appreciation was also extended to the leaders of the Klias and Lumadan constituencies, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih and Datuk Ruslan Muharam, along with the Sabah Contingent Junior Police Officers Association, for their support. Sincere contributions from Sabah PDRM personnel were also presented to the families of the deceased officers as a gesture of solidarity and recognition of their sacrifices.
