Support for Flood Victims and Election Process

In anticipation of the monsoon season, APM is equipping affected areas with 5,772 life jackets, 64,310 collapsible tents, and 144 generators. Furthermore, APM will assist the Election Commission (EC) by ferrying flood victims, particularly those from vulnerable groups like the disabled and the elderly, to polling centres using APM's available assets. This support aims to ensure that the electoral process can proceed without significant disruption, even if it coincides with flood events, a role APM has previously fulfilled during GE14.
Inter-state Cooperation and Public Advisories

To ensure swift and effective response in flood-affected regions, APM members from states not experiencing floods will be redeployed to provide assistance. Residents in flood-prone areas are strongly advised to prepare for potential short-notice evacuations and to assemble "ready to go" bags containing essential items, important documents, and food supplies.
Temporary Relocation Centres and Disaster Preparedness Training

Across the nation, 6,010 temporary relocation centres (PPS) have been gazetted by the Department of Social Welfare, with 138 such centres designated in Melaka. Plans are in place for the rapid activation of these centres, with a focus on maintaining hygiene standards. Beyond immediate response, APM is also committed to enhancing national disaster resilience by aiming to train 10% of Malaysia's 32 million population in fundamental disaster management skills, including rescue, basic medical aid, and fire-fighting, through its Civil Defence Emergency Response Team (CDERT) initiative.
