Ongoing Engagement for Vaccine Education

The Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa) is committed to conducting continuous engagement sessions. These sessions aim to educate the Orang Asli population on why vaccination is important and the benefits it offers, thereby aiming to increase their willingness to be vaccinated.
Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy

Nationwide, 127,669 Orang Asli have been identified as eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine. While 39,174 registration forms have been received by Jakoa, approximately 25,215 Orang Asli have expressed their disagreement with vaccination. This highlights the ongoing challenge of vaccine hesitancy that Jakoa aims to mitigate through its outreach efforts.
Support Beyond Vaccination Efforts

In addition to vaccination initiatives, Deputy Rural Development Minister I Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad also highlighted assistance for Orang Asli households affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0. A total of RM12 million has been allocated for food basket aid, which includes essential items, to be distributed to 62,269 Orang Asli household heads. This aid is being channelled in stages and is expected to be completed by June 9, with further assistance planned if the MCO is extended.
