Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Putrajaya is planning to amend the Land (Group Settlement Areas) Act 1960 (Act 530) so that more than one house can be built on a single residential lot owned by Felda settlers. He said he instructed Felda to prepare draft amendments within two months for Cabinet submission, with the amendments expected to be tabled in Parliament later this year. While the legal changes are being finalised, about 8,000 houses already built on individual lots and occupied since Dec 31, 2025 will receive immediate approval for water and electricity connections.

Anwar said Felda has been instructed to prepare draft amendments to Act 530 within two months. The draft amendments are then to be submitted to the Cabinet before being tabled in Parliament later this year.
