Notably, KTMB has expanded its container handling capacity at the Padang Besar railway terminal from 110,000 TEUs to 150,000 TEUs annually, a significant increase aimed at streamlining logistics.
Perlis Inland Port and Chuping Valley Industrial Area Drive Investment

The enhanced infrastructure at Padang Besar is expected to stimulate further investment in the Perlis Inland Port (PIP). PIP is envisioned to bolster trade between Malaysia and Thailand and serve the needs of the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) by providing a direct rail link to Penang Port.
