Manual Operation and Lane Optimisation

The initial phase of the SmartLane testing will be conducted manually. During weekday morning peak hours, specifically from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, the existing space on the left side of the carriageway will be converted into a temporary additional route. This measure is designed to increase lane capacity and streamline traffic flow, thereby alleviating the congestion typically experienced on this section of the NKVE.
Phased Implementation with Technology Integration

Following the manual testing phase, PLUS plans to introduce a second phase in the second quarter of 2020. This subsequent phase will incorporate full Intelligent Transport System (ITS) technology.
