The extension of the Southern Shuttle service provides a crucial direct rail connection between the Paloh-Kluang-Kulai corridor and the economic hubs of Kulai and JB Sentral. The journey from Paloh to JB Sentral is estimated to take approximately 120 minutes, utilising a portion of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double-Track Project (PLBEGJB) alignment. This strategic enhancement is designed to cater to the daily needs of commuters, including those travelling to Singapore, by offering a more accessible and efficient mode of transport.
Integrated Commuter Services and Industrial Connectivity

Connectivity is further strengthened through integrated services at Kempas Baru Station. This station will serve as a transfer point, linking the Paloh-Kluang-Kulai-Johor Bahru corridor with the Pasir Gudang industrial area via the Kempas Baru-Pasir Gudang-Kempas Baru route. This integration is expected to enhance workforce mobility and support economic activities within the Pasir Gudang industrial zone.
Commuter-Focused Schedules and Promotional Fares

To accommodate daily commuters, the service will operate 10 trips daily, with five services running in each direction. The operational hours are designed to support early morning arrivals and late evening departures, with the earliest train from Paloh departing at 3:55 am and arriving at JB Sentral at 5:52 am, and the last train from JB Sentral leaving at 8:30 pm. Promotional fares are being offered until new electric trains are delivered, reducing the Paloh-JB Sentral fare from RM15.30 to RM7.70.
