Raja Muda of Kedah Leads Sultan’s Birthday Honours List

The Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, has been named as the principal recipient of state awards and medals in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah. The investiture ceremony took place at Istana Anak Bukit.
Highest State Honours Conferred

Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah was bestowed the Darjah Kerabat Kedah, the highest honour within the Kedah state honours system. Following this, Raja Puan Muda of Kedah, Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Mohamad Ariff, received the Darjah Kerabat Sallehuddin. Tunku Laksamana of Kedah, Datuk Seri DiRaja Tunku Shazuddin Ariff Sultan Sallehuddin, was also invested with the title of Duli Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Mahkota Kedah.
Awards for Previous Year's Occasion

The ceremony also included the conferment of state medals and awards that were originally planned for Sultan Sallehuddin’s 79th birthday but could not be held last year. Kedah Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, was among those recognised, receiving the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Kedah, Yang Amat Dihormati (SPMK), which confers the title of Datuk Seri.
Recognition for Senior Government Figures

In addition to the royal recipients and awards from the previous year, the current year's investiture saw Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, awarded the Darjah Seri Setia Diraja Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (SSDK), also carrying the title of Datuk Seri. Other notable recipients included deputy head of ceremony, Datuk Mohd Omar Mohamed, who received the Darjah Paduka Seri Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (DPSS) with the title Datuk Paduka.
