The postponement of the PAC meeting, originally scheduled for February 23 and 24, was attributed to several lawmakers being abroad, with PAC chief Datuk Hasan Arifin noting that all members needed to be present for the session, which is now expected to be held the following week. This marks the second delay, following an earlier postponement in December, despite a commitment to present the report by February 2016.
Responsibility for the Delay

Lim Kit Siang questioned the identities of the PAC members whose absence led to the cancellation of the meeting where the Auditor-General was to present the final 1MDB audit report. He suggested that these individuals failed to recognise the importance of their duties and responsibilities as PAC members, labelling their actions as a "sabotage" of the committee's investigations. The DAP veteran argued that the honourable course of action for these MPs would be to step down from the PAC.
Public Expectation for Accountability

The Gelang Patah MP implied that if these parliamentarians do not resign from the PAC, the public has grounds to demand their resignation as Members of Parliament. Lim Kit Siang asserted that such untrustworthiness in fulfilling their roles renders them unfit to serve, and the public is entitled to hold them accountable for the repeated delays in scrutinising the 1MDB issue.
Previous Commitments and Investigations

The Auditor-General was scheduled to present the National Audit Department's final report on 1MDB to the PAC on February 23 and 24. This meeting was postponed because numerous members were reportedly overseas, with some performing the umrah and others attending to "important commitments," as stated by Datuk Hasan Arifin. This delay follows a previous postponement in December, after which Hasan had indicated that the report would be presented to the committee by February 2016. The PAC was initially tasked by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in March of the previous year to investigate 1MDB.
