Calls for Immediate Suspension

MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon has urged the Ministry of Education to suspend the teachers involved while investigations are ongoing. He stated that if the allegations are true, the teachers' actions, which allegedly involved taking advantage of the child's background and behaving in a "despicable manner," warrant such a measure. Chong emphasised that the teachers should be suspended from their duties until thorough investigations have cleared them.
Union's Stance on Accountability

The NUTP, while tasked with defending its registered teachers, has indicated that this case should not be subject to compromise. Secretary-general Datuk Lok Yim Pheng stated that action must be taken against the educators involved, describing the incident as one of the most extreme cases of abuse. The union's president, Hashim Adnan, highlighted the fundamental duty of teachers to educate and nurture all students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds like the orang asli community.
Legal and Investigative Actions

The alleged abuse included kicking the pupil, slapping, punching, and bashing her head against a wall. The pupil received treatment at a clinic and continues to experience a limp. Following advice from the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam), the victim's grandmother lodged a police report. A second report was later filed after an attempt was reportedly made to persuade the grandmother to withdraw the initial report. Police have since recorded statements from eight individuals, including the victim and the teachers. Chong Sin Woon further called for the police and the Attorney-General's Chambers to investigate and press charges under the Penal Code and the Child Act, suggesting additional charges for alleged threats made towards the student's grandmother.
