A senior executive director from Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd, Datuk Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli, testified that he offered Lim Guan Eng RM100,000 in cash as a birthday present in December 2015. Zarul Ahmad stated that Lim Guan Eng accepted a Maurice Lacroix timepiece worth RM43,000 that was also presented, but he returned the white envelope containing the RM100,000.
Presentation of Gifts

In December 2015, Zarul Ahmad visited Lim Guan Eng's office at Menara KOMTAR in George Town. He brought with him a white envelope containing RM100,000 in cash and a black Maurice Lacroix timepiece valued at RM43,000. Zarul Ahmad informed Lim Guan Eng that these items were gifts in conjunction with his birthday.
Acceptance of Timepiece, Rejection of Cash

According to Zarul Ahmad's testimony, Lim Guan Eng accepted the Maurice Lacroix timepiece. However, Lim Guan Eng did not accept the RM100,000 cash. The witness stated that Lim Guan Eng returned the white envelope containing the money to him.
