These funds were allocated for CSR activities, with RM20 million from Y1MDB designated for Malay-majority seats won by Umno or Barisan Nasional, and another RM20 million from YR1M for similar initiatives in BN-won Chinese and Indian-majority seats.
Witness's Belief Regarding Fund Purpose

Dr Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman maintained that he believed the RM42 million payment made by Ihsan Perdana to Najib's private bank accounts was intended for CSR purposes.
