Identities of the Deceased and Injured

The deceased were identified as Chong Jun Wen, aged 19, who was driving the vehicle; Wong Wei Hao, aged 22; and Ng Kee Kang, aged 20. The fourth occupant, Liew Yu Yang, aged 20, suffered an injury to his right leg. All four were from the same locality in Jasin.
Circumstances of the Accident

The incident took place along Jalan Ayer Keroh Lama in Ayer Keroh early in the morning. Chong was reportedly driving the car towards Jalan Tun Razak at approximately 3:30 am. The vehicle is said to have skidded after navigating a bend near the Bistari mini stadium before plunging into the river.
Recovery and Medical Attention

Chong, Wong, and Ng were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies, along with Liew Yu Yang who required medical treatment, were transported to Malacca Hospital. A scuba squad from the Ayer Keroh Fire Station, situated approximately 100 metres from the accident site, was responsible for the recovery of the bodies from the river.
