Regulatory Action and Penalties

Failure to comply will result in enforcement action under the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984. For individuals found guilty of selling these banned items, penalties include a fine of up to RM25,000 or imprisonment for up to three years for a first offence, escalating to a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or five years' imprisonment for subsequent offences. Errant companies face substantial fines, with up to RM50,000 for a first offence and RM100,000 for a repeat offence.
