Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has implemented a change in its GOKL bus service route designations, transitioning from colour-based names to numerical identifiers effective August 1. This alteration affects all 14 existing routes, aiming to simplify passenger navigation by replacing potentially confusing colour codes with numerical sequences. While the primary names have changed, the original colours will be retained temporarily at the end of the route names to minimise immediate confusion for regular commuters.
Green Line Rebranded as GOKL 01

The route previously known as the GOKL Green Line, which serves the KLCC to Bukit Bintang corridor, has been officially renamed GOKL 01. This change is part of a broader initiative by DBKL to enhance the user experience of the free bus service.
Purple Line Now Identified as GOKL 02

Similarly, the GOKL Purple Line, operating between Pasar Seni Hub and Bukit Bintang, has been updated to GOKL 02. This numerical system is intended to provide a clearer and more easily memorable identification for each of the 14 routes.
Broader Route Re-designations

Beyond the Green and Purple Lines, other routes have also received new numerical designations. For instance, the Red Line is now GOKL 03, and the Blue Line is GOKL 04. The Orange Line has become GOKL 05, the Pink Line GOKL 06, the Turquoise Line GOKL 07, the Maroon Line GOKL 08, and the Brown Line GOKL 09. Further changes include the Parrot Green Line becoming GOKL 10, the Gray Line GOKL 11, the Cream Line GOKL 12, the Magenta Line GOKL 13, and the newest route from Muhibbah Community Complex to Pinggiran Bukit Jalil PPR is now GOKL 14.
