The rightmost lane, designated for faster traffic, has a recommended minimum speed of 100 km/h on highways with three to four lanes, and 80 km/h on expressways with two lanes.
Middle Lane Advisory Speed

The middle lane is intended for vehicles travelling at moderate speeds. The current advisory suggests a minimum speed of 80 km/h for this lane. However, this recommendation is flexible and can be lowered to 60 km/h, particularly on highways with fewer lanes, to accommodate a wider range of traffic speeds and prevent unnecessary obstruction.
Rightmost Lane Advisory Speed

The rightmost lane is typically used by the fastest traffic. To maintain efficient movement and prevent bottlenecks, Miros recommends a minimum speed of 100 km/h for this lane on highways featuring three or four lanes. On expressways with only two lanes, the recommended minimum speed for the rightmost lane is set at 80 km/h.
Purpose of Advisory Limits

These advisory minimum speeds are part of a proof-of-concept project aimed at discouraging "lane hogging" and encouraging drivers to select lanes appropriate for their travel speed. By implementing these guidelines, Miros hopes to enhance traffic fluidity, reduce driver frustration, and potentially decrease highway accidents stemming from speed differentials. The initiative is currently being tested at specific locations on the North-South Expressway and the South Klang Valley Expressway until October 31.
