Total Fines Exceed RM257,000 for Thai Sepaktakraw Team Officials and Players

The International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) has imposed fines totalling over RM257,000 on five Thailand national players and three team officials. These penalties stem from the abandonment of the final match at the ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Cup Kuala Lumpur 2026 in May. The ISTAF Disciplinary Hearing Panel, which convened in Bangkok on August 10, found all eight individuals guilty of actions related to the incident.
Fines for Principal Players

Three principal players, identified as Phutawan Sopa, Wichan Temkort, and Jakkrit Thinbangbon, each received a fine of US$6,000, equivalent to RM24,507. These players have already served their respective suspensions in connection with the abandoned final.
Fines for Reserve Players and Coaches

Two reserve players, Sittipong Khamchan and Chattuphon Siriart, were each fined US$5,000 (RM20,422.50). Additionally, the two coaches sanctioned, Narachit Kalachan and Sahachat Sakhoncharoen, were each fined US$8,000 (RM32,676). Their suspensions have also been served.
Team Manager's Fine and Appeal Process

The team manager, Auychai Srisuwan, received the highest individual fine of US$10,000, amounting to RM40,845. ISTAF's regulations stipulate that any unpaid fines within 14 days of receiving a penalty notice will result in a suspension period of one to two years. An appeal can be lodged within 14 days of the penalty notice, accompanied by an appeal fee of US$500.
