Loss of Control on a Bend

The Proton X70 was travelling towards Kuantan, Pahang, after attending a wedding ceremony. While negotiating a bend, the driver is believed to have fallen asleep, leading to a loss of control. This resulted in the vehicle veering off its intended path.
Collision with Road Barrier and Subsequent Injuries

Following the loss of control, the Proton X70 collided with a road barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to spin multiple times and become lodged on the barrier. The severe impact resulted in Maziah Che Hassan suffering a severed left leg, and she later succumbed to her injuries at Dungun Hospital.
Other Occupants Sustained Injuries

In addition to the fatality, the driver and three other passengers within the Proton X70 also sustained injuries.
